Garmin Kit GAD 13, GTP 59, Conn Kit (Experimental)

SKU: 010-02203-K0 Category: Tag: Brand: Garmin

1 in stock (can be backordered)

AUD $715.00

The GAD 13 is a small unit used to interface to OAT probes.

GTP 59 OAT Probe measures Outside Air Temperature.

This kit allows the G5 and G3X EFIS systems to display OAT.

1 in stock (can be backordered)

The G5 electronic flight instrument is now capable of displaying outside air temperature (OAT) and true airspeed (TAS) using a temperature probe and the new Garmin GAD™ 13 adapter. Similar to other Garmin products, OAT displays along the bottom of the airspeed indicator, while TAS is displayed on the top of the airspeed indicator.

When G5 is configured as a directional gyro (DG) or horizontal situation indicator (HSI), wind speed and direction is also displayed in the upper left corner of the G5.

For standalone G5 installations, the GAD 13 and a temperature probe are required.

For aircraft where G5 is paired with a compatible PFD such as G3X Touch, G5 will display this information with a software update.

New for experimental aircraft, G5 can also display density altitude below the altimeter while the aircraft is on the ground.

The GAD 13 provides a standard three-wire or two-wire interface that can be connected to the following approved OAT probes:

• GTP 59

• C307PS (Davtron)

OAT analogue information from the GAD 13 is converted to digital information, and passed to other G5 system LRUs using CAN communication.

Connection to GAD 13 enables the G5 to display TAS, OAT, and crosswind information.

The Garmin GTP 59 is an externally mounted temperature probe that provides raw outside air temperature data.

The device is a three-wire temperature probe interface with a pre-installed wire lead that is 10 feet long.
